Sabrina Baker is the owner, founder, and lead Preschool teacher of Creative Xpressions Preschool for the Arts, and Creative Tots Family Art & Playgroup. She is committed to helping young children explore and learn through an art-based curriculum with hands-on play-based activities that teach students positive social and emotional interactions.

From a very young age, Sabrina’s love for art and taking care of young children began to grow during her time in high school. She began volunteering at her local community Boys & Girls Club as a Junior summer camp counselor. She enjoyed advising in creating fun, interactive art, cooking, and science projects for preschoolers and young elementary school students every day.

 

After 15 years of teaching in the early childhood field, Sabrina has gained experience working as a lead teacher in various preschool/pre-k classroom settings around the Lehigh Valley & Pocono Mountains. She currently has her Infant- Toddler Child Development Associates Credential from the Council for Professional Recognition of Washington D.C and various early childhood professional development training from Penn State University. She will be graduating in February 2025 from Life Is Good; Playmaker University with a certification in Trauma Informed Child Care for Early Childhood Educators. She will also be graduating in Spring 2025 from Penn Foster College with a Child Care Professional Diploma.Sabrina plans to continue her education by participating in local early childhood trainings throughout her career so that she can always offer guidance to families who experience mental health conditions who can use art to cope, flourish, and heal.

Sabrina’s dream began to bloom into a reality during the Covid-19 pandemic when families were seeking quality childcare with small group interactions. As a professional educator, Sabrina was forced to work from home as a virtual home visitor for Early Head Start. She knew that she wanted to serve children and their families with affordable and high-quality childcare in the Poconos. 

In August 2021, Sabrina opened the doors to her art, music, yoga, and play-based preschool at the Day Street Community Center in East Stroudsburg, PA. She has since served over 20 families in her preschool program since she began. In such a short period and dozens of inquiries daily in August 2024, Sabrina decided to have her permanent preschool location moved to Bethlehem, PA where she provides part-time and full-time Toddler and Preschool programs Monday through Friday all year round. 

“Parents and teachers must partner together early in a child’s life to create a strong foundation to support our children of the future.” - Unknown. This quote inspired Sabrina to bring together families even outside of preschool hours. In January 2022 Sabrina began her pilot program named; Creative Tots Art & Playgroup. This program has served families of children ages 0-6 years old to make new friends and community connections. Since the pilot program began she has had over 20 families in her free monthly art & play group.

Looking onward into 2025  Sabrina is very excited to be partnering with various community organizations including Angels & Dragonflies Children’s Charity, a 501(c) non-profit organization that provides free infant products and free gently used children’s toys to families in Monroe & Pike Counties in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

Her preschool program has also partnered with Christ Episcopal Church of Stroudsburg, PA’s Food Pantry program. Their partnership ensures that currently enrolled students and their families of her program can twice monthly receive food backpacks to prevent food insecurities outside of childcare hours. The church also provides her program an open play space to use during the colder months when they are unable to have outdoor playtime free of charge.

Beginning in Spring 2025 Sabrina is very excited to announce that she will be officially opening Creative Tots art and playgroup programs for families in Monroe, Pike, Northampton, and Lehigh counties for a small monthly fee. During the 90-minute weekly session, families will have the opportunity to receive valuable information about local events, resources, and government assistance programs available to them. The goal of this program is to empower families with a fun, encouraging, and safe space to grow together, create new friendships, and help families feel that no matter their circumstances they have options! 

During her free time, Sabrina enjoys spending her time creating various types of arts and crafts, traveling, listening and dancing to various types of music, playing video games, shopping, and enjoying life with her loving family and friends.
